Accepting New Patients
Dr. Cristina Schirripa is committed to providing exceptional eye care to all ages with a focus on patient education. She enjoys taking the time to help her patients understand their vision and eye health and believes that optometry is more than just a sight test; it is about maintaining healthy eyes through preventative and collaborative eye care.
Dr. Schirripa was trained at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science where she graduated with Honours in 2009 with both her Doctorate of Optometry and Honours Bachelor of Science. Her training included a four-month externship at the Eye Associates of Pinellas in Florida where she received extensive clinical experience in the management of glaucoma, cataracts, corneal disorders and retinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.
In her years of practice, Dr. Schirripa has developed a passion for pediatric eye care with an interest in helping to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children as well as an interest in the treatment of dry eye for all ages. Her love of patient education and teaching also granted her the opportunity to mentor several students and University of Waterloo optometry interns.
Dr. Schirripa is board certified in ocular therapeutics and is an active member of both the Ontario Association of Optometrists and Ontario College of Optometrists. She is fluent in English and Italian and when not in the clinic, enjoys baking, running and spending time with family and friends.
